This is the official journal of the International Society for Phytocosmetic Science (ISPS). ISPS is a nonprofit, worldwide professional society comprised of individuals and institutions engaged in the science of using plant-based ingredients in the production of cosmetics and personal care products. Phytoessence.org is the leading website that provides information related to the ISPS activities, including events, publication, and member services. Events are scheduled twice annually in the Americas and Europe or Asia under society's auspices. The International Phytocosmetic and Phytotherapy Congresses (IPPC) serves the main organizational goal of promoting and fostering advances in science and technology using plant-based ingredients to produce cosmetics and personal care products.

The International Journal of Phytocosmetics and Natural Ingredients [IJPNI] supports researchers, product experts, scholars, and professionals in the fields of natural plant-based ingredients, the study of medicinal and aromatic plants, product formulation for cosmetics and phytomedicine, pharmacognosy, phytochemistry, scientific research focusing on bioactive compounds used in phytocosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and personal care products.

IJPNI accepts manuscripts related to focus of the journal for review. Authors need to read guideline prior to submission and ready to respond to requests made by IJPNI and reviewers in a timely fashion. IJPNI reserves the right to accept a work for review or reject it according to its policies. A rejections may provide an opportunity to resubmit a revised work or reject without submission option.
